Virtual Theatre: Keeping Theatre Alive During a Pandemic

Theatre is meant to bring people together!

In this presentation, learn how the Goochland Drama Department kept their theatre season alive during a pandemic by producing two virtual productions. We will discuss the following:
  • Our Process: Auditions to Show Weekend
  • How We Utilized Technology to Connect with Students
  • Storytelling through a Virtual Lens
  • Educational Outcomes: What Educators and Students Learned

The two productions that took place were It's a Wonderful Life (December - GHS) and Dear Edwina Jr. (February - GMS).

Hello, I am Heather Wilckens and I am currently the producer for the GHS and GMS theater programs.  Prior to becoming the GHS producer, I was the costume designer.  When I am not involved with the theater, I can be found teaching 7th and 8th grade civics and economics at GMS.
